How to Play M3U Playlists on Android TV, Google TV and TV Boxes

Android TV, Google TV and Android TV boxes can install IPTV players from Google Play. Here is a reliable setup with VLC, which is free and has no ads.

What you need

  • An Android TV, Google TV or Android TV box with Google Play
  • An M3U / M3U8 playlist link

Steps

  1. Install VLC

Open Google Play on the TV, search for VLC and install VLC for Android.

  2. Add the playlist link

Open VLC, go to Browse → Stream (or the network stream option in your version) and enter the playlist link.

  3. Play and switch channels

VLC loads the playlist; pick a channel to play. Use the remote’s back button to return to the list.

Try it in your browser first
