FAQ

Does Doubo provide TV channels?

No. Doubo is a player; it doesn't bundle or sell channel content. Add playlists you're authorized to use. Recommended lists in the app are third-party public links, and their availability and viewing rights are set by their providers.

How do I get started?

Tap Add, paste an M3U / M3U8 playlist URL you’re authorized to use, or import a .m3u / .m3u8 file from Files. Channels are grouped automatically. See the Guide page for step-by-step instructions.

Which formats are supported?

M3U and M3U8 playlists, with live streams such as HLS (.m3u8) that Apple’s native player supports. You can also open local video files directly.

Do you collect my data?

The app collects no personal data. Playlists, favorites, and watch history stay on your device. This website uses Google Analytics to understand visits; see the privacy policy.

What do I need to cast to a TV?

The TV must support DLNA rendering (DMR) and be on the same network. Automatic discovery on iPhone and iPad requires Apple's multicast networking entitlement, which is still pending; Mac isn't affected.

Is there an Android version?

It’s on the way. Doubo for Android will support phones, tablets, and Android TV / TV boxes, and we’ll announce it here as soon as it’s available.

Does it work on Apple TV?

An Apple TV version is planned. Today Doubo runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and you can cast to your living-room TV.

Can Doubo control my TV like a remote?

Yes. Doubo includes a universal TV remote for Roku, Samsung, LG and DLNA TVs on the same network, with power, volume, channel up/down, a number pad, a direction pad and text search. TVs are found automatically over your network. Apple TV can't be controlled by third-party apps.

Does Doubo support catch-up or replay?

Yes, on channels whose playlist source provides catch-up parameters. You can go back and watch programmes that already aired.

Can I choose the stream quality?

Yes. On multi-bitrate HLS channels you can pick Auto, High, Medium or Low to match your connection.

Can I sign in with an Xtream Codes account?

Yes. Enter your Xtream host, username and password; Doubo loads the live channels and stores the password only in the device Keychain.

What happens if a playlist can't be refreshed?

Doubo shows the channels it cached from the last successful load and tells you the network reason, instead of leaving a blank screen.
